Childhood and Elementary School

My parents are 50s Intellectuals and so we didn’t prioritize TV over playing outside, or books. We had a very small black and white in the closet upstairs in the living room. We only really watched TV as a family on Sunday night, and it was usually PBS airings of British show like Monty Python or The Goodies. Later in the decade my brother and I would fight for the right to choose the show. My favorite show was Welcome Back, Kotter and the best episode ever was the two-parter Bionic Man vs. Bigfoot.
